Review of the year
Our sixth year started with a Woking & Guildford (W&G) disco. This was followed by Thames Valley's (TV) return visit to the Mexican restaurant in Windsor. We then took a large group to see The Reduced Shakespeare Company perform at Woking. This was followed by the first of TV's now famous 'parties', and again being so popular they held another two in the same year. In April we took over the Mongolian BBQ in Camberley and this was followed by a Pool Party held at Windsor pool which included exclusive hire of the pool, food and a disco - all this on the evening of the Cup Final. Two 'mini' events followed with a BBQ and a ramble. October saw the launch of another new 'area' group in the Kent area of Medway. Their first event was a 70's & 80's disco for which many 'dressed up' in the gear of the era and the place was packed out. This was followed by our annual London theatre trip, this time to see the musical Saturday Night Fever. In December a second new 'area' group was launched in the same year! The new Mid-Surrey group launched with a barn dance in Dorking with 68 people attending. To end the year the new Medway group (so excited by the response to the first event) squeezed in a Christmas party.
