Review of the year
Our seventh year started with the Medway (Med) group having an 'all you can eat' Chinese meal. This was followed by our Thames Valley (TV) group attending a local Mongolian BBQ. The Middlesex group started their year by re-visiting Pals restaurant with exclusive hire and private disco afterwards. So many people wanted to go to Saturday Night Fever last time that we organised a return visit filling another coach to go to London. The following week the newly formed Mid-Surrey group held their second event where they took over and filled the Billabong restaurant. This was quickly followed up with a 'mini' event ramble. In May two Riverboat Shuffles were organised in two different areas. The first was held in Walderslade with a small difference. It was still held on a boat, but the boat didn't move! The second was more traditional down the Thames. In September we held a karaoke in Slough and 10 pin bowling in Sutton on the same night!. The latter was the launch event of yet another new 'area' group, coming under the name of Merton, Croydon & Sutton (MCS). In October we once again went Go Karting. At the end of the month we held what was fast becoming our annual Rebel Roc (similar to Ceroc) night, and in a very busy November TV clocked up Party 5. For our annual London theatre trip we went to see the fantastic new musical Mamma Mia with a bit of a twist. Although we filled two coaches (as usual) they departed from different areas and we all met and sat together. Five days later Med celebrated their first anniversary with a repeat of their first event, whilst in Hersham a Christmas party was held - both on the same night. To end the year, yet another new 'area' group was started under the area name of London South East (or LSE). Their launch event was a meal at the local Temujin restaurant, which is similar in style to the Mongolian BBQ.
